BMW shows its best in redesign

2008 BMW 6 SeriesSometimes, in order to keep a well-known feel it is enough to make some trifle changing in this or that place and to emphasize the attention on some details. It seems the 2008 6 Series, BMW to do the same.
What is so special in the 6 Series? The 4.8-liter V-8 — rated at 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque — is the difference from the 2007 model. All the rest keeps the same: 0-60 mph times at 5.3 seconds for the coupe and 5.6 seconds for the convertible, the six-speed manual.

But the SMG and Steptronic automatic options are of no use and fashion any more. In stead of them BMW offers new six-speed Sport Automatic transmission which has steering-wheel paddle shifters.
Outer updates are vivid. They are: LED-emphasized headlights (on the Audi R8), a bit larger air intake, more extruded side sills. Some changes appear in the car’s rump, it became more rounded, and the center brake light is integrated into the chunkier spoiler lip. Using the leather upholstery in the convertible gets BMW’s innovative SunReflective Technology. The specially-treated leather helps to protect the car from the sun’s infra-red radiation.
The 6 Series also contains adaptive cruise control with a ’stop and go’ heavy traffic feature the automaker’s lane departure warning system, and newly-developed adaptive headrests.
