Auto sales in Germany and France fall by leaps and bounds

Unexpected things happen all over France and Germany. Auto sales face unpleasant situation. France, Paris, auto sales percentage diminished up to 3.2 percent. This is in comparison with the previous year the same period. Germany shows even the worse digits – 7.0 per cent. To give exact examples, Renault cars sales fell 13.5 percent, or PSA Peugeot Citroen – fell 1.4 percent (according to the committee of automobile manufacturers in France). But, in general, the committee states that sales arouse in 1.4 percent.

The national auto sector federation in Germany says that June’s sales declined 7.0 percent over a year to 301,000 units. The federation thinks this is because sales tax increasing from 16 to 19 percent. The federation, in its turn, declined sales forecast in 2007 to 3.2 million from 3.3 million units. Matthias Wissmann, the federation president, asks consumers not to buy a car until it takes a get clarification on projects. According to Wissmann, domestic sales are not so successful, but the export picture is definitely better. They expect to have a record: 4.2 million units in 2007. In comparison with the last year, June, export sales increased -17 percent.
