A new wave of making the cars less in weight influenced the automakers all over the world. The leading position belongs to Jaguar and Audi. These are they that used lighweight materials, in other words mostly aluminium.

The German company is planning to provide two its future sport cars, SL of the advanced generation and SLC, the new model, with aluminum bodywork. The advantages of switching these materials are: 1. fuel economy and 2. improving of handling, riding and performance.
The first model to be used with the aluminium is the SLC. This model is also called “the Audi R8 fighter’. 2010 will be the start for this car. About the SL, it is going to lose some kilos a little bit later, in 2012. Some trustful sources say the SLC will have carbon-fiber panels.
The production of the SLC of cars is supposed to be from 4000 to 5000 units annually. The price will be $150,000.
