It was predictable that after Mulally was assigned Grand Poo-bah of FoMoCo, the first thing Mulally decided to do was to make common Europe and American Automaker line. The purpose is to lessen the production costs. Of course the American side feels hurt a bit, as is something was taken from it, and vice versa, the European side feels ok in the situation.

Some sources point out that the Ford is going to “import” such platform to the USA as C1. It will be realized in the Focus and Escape, additionally with the C-Max, not forgetting about the Lincoln crossover. So, we will have something special by 2011.
All these editions will be built in such plants as the Michigan, Wayne and Kansas City plant.
