The mysterious engine inside the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette
At last the small block of the car which became classics, Chevrolet, was revised. In this latest LS3 review we see the vivid change: LS2’s 6.0 is displaced to 6.2 liters. This little change gave more to the car then it was even expected by the enthusiasts. This gave an opportunity to add more 30-36 horsepower out of the engine.
The redesign touched all the important parts: breathing was improved, the reciprocating masses were lowered, and the block was strengthened. There is a special process in bettering the breathing — eliminates “cross talk” between cylinders and lost-core casting technique. These techniques give additional 5 horsepower.
