Mazda makes some steps forward
Mazda qiuts its former Sport Wagon version from its 6 lineup for 2008. Nevertheless, it brought back the award-winning sedan and in addition five-door hatchback. These two models became the essence for its brand and the platform for Ford vehicles, beginning with the Edge crossover and finishing with the Mercury Milan sedan. Hot sports version is also lost for Mazdaspeed6 for 2008.
Last year the returning sedan and hatchback model join a substantial amount of gear. All the standard equipment as traction control, anti-lock brakes, and side and curtain airbags are included. For 2008 the changes are hardly visible: tire pressure monitors in all versions are standard.
The technical characteristics are: 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, 156 horsepower as standard, the optional 3.0-liter V-6 makes 212 horsepower. Base model is a five-speed manual gearbox, of course a four-speed automatic transmission is optionally available. A new version is in development to be shown at the Frankfurt motor show in autumn.
