Mercedes official stated of renaming SUV into the GLK class
Some time ago Mercedes officially stated that its long awaited compact SUV would be called the GLK class. The prototype was shown for the press. According to Mercedes official data the GLK is smaller in size in the GL-Class SUV. This version has a comparatively squared-off exterior. The interior was also shown at this event. What can we expect from Mercedes inside?
It has leather seats having black piping and wood trim. Additionally, the car has COMAND-Plus single-knob controller and also -dash navigation system. The car will be produced at the Germany plant in Bremen. It is supposed to edit about 80,000 units a year. The platform of the Mercedes-GLK is 2008 C-Class. This will be 2.0 liter base model and it is going to have a 2.2-liter turbodiesel producing 204 horsepower. According to some sources the price of the car will be below $40,000. We are to wait till September to see the car at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
