Aston Martin represents the 2008 DBS

Aston Martin represents the 2008 DBSAs you remember not so long ago Aston Martin “proclaimed” its independence from Ford Motor Co. Now Aston Martin has a very decisive piece for the future. The DBS is going to be Aston’s new flagship, a superseding, which will make a debut in October and come into production.

Do you remember the well-known film “Casino Royal”? This was the first presentation of the auto.
The platform of the car is a surprisingly flexible VH one. The model is closely related to the DB9 sports car, that is why they have something in common, like lightweight chassis, “entry-level” V8 Vantage. But there are some differences in the cars. The new model is an inch lower and a little bit wider. The wheels’ diameter is twenty inches. The car is supplied with the P Zero Pirelli tires. The winning point of the car is its extra rubber, especially when one tries to plant the 510-horspower developing from the DBS’s 6.0-liter V12. This is a point, 60 more in comparison with the DB9. By the way, this is enough to launch the car from 0 to 60 in just 4.3 seconds. The indices point your attention on the fact that this is a half-second faster if compared with the previous speed king, the Vanquish, and, moreover, it is 0.6 seconds quicker than the DB9. The highest speed you can develop is 191 mph.
How was all this achieved? The Aston martin let the 12-banger breath more freely. The car is equipped with computer-controlled valved air boxes. They respond on increasing engine speeds. The highest power of the engine can be achieved at 6500 RPMs. For the comparison: the DB9 showed 5750. The new system also supplies the car with aural satisfaction, including a louder, more track-like brap at top revs. Another difference between the DBS and DB9 is in new car’s 5-bar. The DBS has a bigger under-bumper aperture in order to ram air into the engine. Cooling is provided by the additional ducts for the car’s standard ceramic brakes. The exterior carbon fiber components are as follows: wings and air splitter, the rear diffuser, up front, the hood, and the sideview mirror mounts.
The car became “smarter”. The case is not only in the engine airflow system, but also in the elements which are not seen to the audience from the first look.
