New battle: 2008 Honda Accord and 2007 Toyota CamryThe auto world is full of events when two automakers make a competition between each other for the supremacy. Usually there are no more than two automakers. The way of competing can differ and vary. This can be done for some magazine comparison-test victories, or for sales titles, often for track times.

This is very effective for all the sides: for the cars and automakers that is an additional brand advertisement, for the magazines and other mass media resources this is the way to make a bright article, this is efficient for the paper. The following auto pairs always make such events: Camaro and Mustang, Evo and Sti, S-Class and 7 Series, and Supra and Z. for the automakers of the accounted above autos, this is a habitual thing, if we can say so. The results define which style or power, or maybe agility is more updated, is stronger and better requires the needs of customers. This time Accord and Camry will be represented for the judge. For the past decade these two autos, the Honda Accord and the Toyota Carmy organized strong battles over the title to be called the bestseller. Both of the cars had a line of 400,000 yearly. Carmy has had this title for ten years of the last ten years, but Accord has always managed to be in the first rates, in 2001 the model also got the title of the 2001 bestseller. The first introduction of the Carmy was made in 1983 in the U.S. Since that time Toyota has sold about seven million units. The Accord, in its, turn, started the production in 1976. the amount of sold cars is 10 million copies.
Last year Toyota introduced the Carmy of the seventh generation. This is the SE V06 version, considered to be the most powerful Carmy sold in the United States – 268 horsepower, the quickest – develops 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, etc. A new standard? Who knows…
Accord from Honda is also of seventh generation, this was a stellar sedan in its own field. But, compared with the new Carmy, the age of Accord became being not an advantage, but vice versa. The Honda’s automakers pride themselves in the innovations supplying the car. One of the principles of Honda is that they should do all their best in order their car not to be called old-fashioned. So, the freshened Accord was introduced in Boston to the media. The eight-generation car is remade completely, beginning with the styling, interior, up to chassis and engine.
