2008 Nissan Rogue – in its best meaning

2008 Nissan Rogue – in its best meaningIn most cases “rogue” has a negative meaning, hinting on something wild, naughty and uncontrolled. Forget all this with a new 2008 Nissan Rogue. It has very little in common with all these associations. On the contrary, the car is very easy and pleasant to control. This is the crossover of the new generation, which is aimed to get some friendly vibrations. Its second purpose is having the same sale index as Honda’s CR-V or Toyota’s RAV4 have reached.

If to compare the periods of those models’ growth, we can see, that it took for about a decade for Honda’s and Toyota’s editions to become competitive crossovers, while Nissan was busy with Murano. Now Murano lives its own life and competes with Highlander, the Edge from Ford and pilot.
To underpin the Rogue, the versatile C platform is used, and being a compact class, the auto catches the attention and interest among the customers.
Nissan is considered to belong to the same field as RAV4 and CR-V. But it is has vehicles of different sizes for different models, according to customers’ wishes. Like most of the cars which take part in the competition in the area, Nissan is a front-driver; it can be outfit with all-wheel drive, by the way, for all the climate conditions, in other words – for four-weather climates.
As you can guess, the 2008 Nissan has two versions: the Rogue S, which is considered to be the base, and the second one is more lavish – Rogue SL.
Both Rogue versions are of the sporty style and have equal powertrain, a four-cylinder engine working with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Both models have 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft torque. The Rouge has a better noise damping if compared to the Sentra sedan, and sounds even melodically for ears. Of course, it is supplied with the available paddle shifters. The CVT adds some advantage to the auto, because it gives some fuel economy to the engine. In fact, the Rogue has electric power steering. Compared with others, in this case with Sentra, we can say that the Rogue steering is sharper and more accurate. But one lack exists: it is not as progressive as hydraulic units.
Now Nissan Rogue is an inch longer in comparison with the RAV4 in wheelbase, and about three inches longer than the CR-V. The wheels are 17 inches in diameter. In spite of this the Rogue makes less road noise than a picky customer can expect.
