Audi A4 coming at Frankfurt
Just after Audi’s A4 appearing at the U.S. dealership, Audi has decided to make another step forward — to represent the A4 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Now there are known the details of the upcoming A4. As you remember it is announced to be the 2009 model. The Show will be the debut time, we have only wait for some days till September.
Looking at the car you will understand at once that the car is pure Audi, because, all the style in design is kept as in the previous models. But there is some minor changing and you can see a few features from BMW 3-Series. In fact, xenon headlamps are available. This light incorporates 14 light-emitting diodes, so it is possible to use the lights at the daytime driving.
Some parts of the car style were redesigned. Ad the whole picture is changing in proportions and some changing in mechanical layout. Now the new Audi is two inches wider and five inches longer in comparison with the previous model. All this is seen on the contrast with a vividly shorter front overhang. The overhang is matched with a longer wheelbase and hood; this was achieved by some changes in the mechanical layout of the sport sedan.
The new claim of Audi is a “supremely dynamic road behavior”. That is why Audi has exchanged the positions of the clutch and differential. The purpose is to move the front axle forward by 6.1 inches.
The international version will be represented with a range of 5 engines.
The first one is the top — be the 3.2 FSI. It makes 265 hp and it is capable to bring the A4 to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds, and this is with the standard six-speed manual gearbox and Quattro help. This new 3.2-liter, according to Audi, is more fuel-efficient if compared with the 255-hp engine, which it replaces. For the Europe the 1.8 TFSI engine is available. It develops 160 hp. For the U.S. the 2.0 T will be at service.
The diesel variants are also on sale: engines of 2.7 and 3.0 liters.
Audi is equipped with the hydraulic power steering system. This is much better than the electric one. Then comes the new Audi dynamic steering system, and the ESP stability system.
